Description

I captured this pretty female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird in stop-action several years ago as she approached a newly replenished feeder on our deck. She was one of several females who almost constantly sparred over rights to the feeder. Very often she'd lie in wait in a nearby maple tree and would vigorously attack when another bird, male or female, dared approach "her" feeder.
