Description
This beautifully colored female Ruby-throated Hummingbird is one of half a dozen or so that frequent our feeders from March through September. They seem to spend the bulk of their time driving off competitors for the feeders, making a the circuit of four feeders positioned around our house hundreds of times per day and only rarely relaxing and feeding while perched on the feeders. This little lady is face-down, absolutely undistracted, and actually stayed that way for several minutes before charging off after a competitor, chirping loudly as she flew off in pursuit.
