Description
An Osprey waits for its mate to return to their nest at Sanibel Island's Ding Darling Wildlife Management area as one of those all-too-predictable late afternoon Florida rain storms rapidly builds in the background, casting an ominous light on the scene. The WMA is home for all manner of water birds, and this Osprey and mate set up housekeeping on a nesting platform less than a mile from the start of the loop road that transits the WMA. This bird, a female, seemed to be glaring at her mate who was brooding in a nearby treetop while she entertained the WMA's visitors.
