Description
All through Spring and Summer we see a lot of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. We have a colony of six to eight birds that return year after year and spend the season sparring for rights to our several feeders. I've been lucky enough, and persistent enough, to capture some nice in-flight closeups. In this instance the bird, a female, was hovering near a feeder impatiently waiting for her turn for a snack when I captured this stop-action image against a nearly cloudless midday sky.
