Description
This sunny summer image captures a female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird hovering over a bloom cluster on a vivid pink "Miss Molly" butterfly bush in our garden here in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. This was a tough shot to capture because it was taken at a distance between the vertical slats of our deck rail, and of course because hummingbirds tend to not stay still for impatient photographers. However, thanks to a great zoom lens and very fast shutter I was able to capture this nicely detailed stop-action image.
