Description
Mid Summer here in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley marks the high point of Hummingbird activity in our area. By this point they've produced a brood and are intent on fueling up for their migration to the south when cooler weather finally sets in. This in-flight image (the second of three sequential images) captures a female Ruby-throated Hummingbird headed for one of our feeders. This presentation is a crop of a larger image captured on a very hot July day with a hand-held Canon R6 mirrorless camera with EFS70-200 zoom and EF/R adapter at a very fast shutter speed to produce this stop-action rendering. The depiction of the bird is clear and clean, but because the 2000x2000px image file is very small it is offered only on products where the image size will present properly.
