Artist's Description
This pretty blue heron co-opted one of my favorite fishing spots at Pasadena Maryland's Lake Waterford Park, but that's okay...I had the camera with me that day instead of my fishing gear. The bird had just landed and happily my approach didn't disturb it so I was able to get several shots. It was a beautiful day so the bird's colors really popped in this nice sharp image.

About Daniel Beard
I started seriously shooting post-retirement along Maryland's Chesapeake Bay in 2006 and Marci wasn't far behind once she also retired. We have since relocated to Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The majority of our photographs are of nature, and while we dabble in other subjects and occasionally in computer art, nature is our wheelhouse. I hope that you, the viewer, enjoy our images as much as we have enjoyed capturing them. All images in our gallery are Copyright Daniel V. Beard and Marjorie A. Beard 2020-2023, All Rights Reserved

Vicious birds on baby ducks but a beautiful creature.
Daniel Beard replied:
Never saw them bothering the ducks in that setting, but they certainly can be aggressive.
